Fairy Meadows is reached by a narrow jeep track from Raikot Bridge and then a walk of roughly an hour and a half. Whatever you bring, you or a porter carries. Small bags make a better trip.
The bag itself
Leave your main suitcase at the hotel in Chilas or in the vehicle. Take a 30–40 litre daypack with two nights of essentials and nothing else.

Clothing
Layers beat bulk: one thermal base layer, a fleece, a windproof shell, and one change of trekking clothes. Nights at 3,300 m are cold even in July, so pack a warm hat and gloves.
Trail shoes with grip are enough for the walk up. Full mountaineering boots are only needed if you continue to Beyal or the Nanga Parbat base camp viewpoint.

Practicalities
Power is limited and often solar, so bring a power bank. Mobile signal is patchy to non-existent — tell family in advance that you will be offline.
A head torch, sunscreen, lip balm and a one-litre bottle cover almost everything else. Cabins provide bedding, so no sleeping bag is required on our itineraries.

What our guides always add
A small first-aid kit, paracetamol, rehydration salts, and snacks for the walk. Simple things, but they are what get used most.
